Christmas Lights

Due to the uncertainty around Covid Restrictions at the time, The Newport Pagnell Christmas Lights event will not be taking place for 2021. The Lights will still be switched on towards the end of November. In the mean time, check out our Christmas Events guide here* to find all the festive events happening.

On Friday 2nd December 1960 Earl Beatty of Chichley gave the command that would start the big switch on of Newport Pagnell’s first Christmas illuminations. Since then, the Switch On Day has become one of the most Festive Events in the Town’s Diary.

The day consists of entertainment throughout the High Street with market stalls, food vendors and fun fair rides lining the streets. Dancers and singers will perform all leading up to a special appearance by Father Christmas and the big switch on.
